This gem was cut by me from my rough. I always kept my opal dry in the safe for over a year before i cut it to make sure it did not craze. This opal has been in the dry for over 15 years. If it does not pass that test it goes to the trash... This is the classic opal with a little larger than pin fire orbs of color. It is solid and takes a high polish. Calibrated cut for bezel or prongs in a high dome cut. To me this is the classic opal. No treatment in any way and the back is clean with no potch. I used to love to cut opal but I do not waste the rough and will only cut what I have now on demand or in a standard cut.
