  This gem was cut by me 9-15-2020. It has been dopped for almost a year as although i have cut over 12 of these minerals; they always make me nervous as stuff just happens when I cut them... In any case; this gem was a 14.39 dog tooth specimen that had a flaw on one side that kept it from being a "perfect" specimen so I had no issues cutting it. Others i have are flawless South African and I do not cut them as they are awesome the way they are... This gem has had no treatments in any way. It is a SOFT gem 3.5 to 4 on the mohs hardness scale and the RI is 1.695-1.7, and it is not for the weak at heart to cut and polish. The shape dictated the design and believe me the design changed over 5 times from start to finish if that tells you anything... Oh well; my fun for the day.. I left the point thick as that is always the weak point in any pear shaped gem. I did not take the table down to the meets on purpose as I wanted to stay away from any cleavages areas I sww within the gem. The rounded part of the gem was the base of the crystal.
