  This gem was cut in Sri Lanka in 2001 from my rough. I met a Russian dealer back in the early 1990's. I bought many mineral specimens from him to cut. These however were very small crystal pieces so back then I did not cut anything small so I sent them to Sri Lanka to my friend to have cut. If I knew then what I know now I would have cut all that material myself. I only had one chance in 35 years to buy any USSR natural Alexandrite and that was it. This is the last one from that lot as my wife's birthstone is this and the others have been made for her into jewelry. No treatments in any way. It does have a slight window but for the color and clarity that really does not matter. ** Fine Color! WOW! The photos do not do this gemstone the Justice! ** - Rachelle
