  This gem was cut in Sri Lanka from my rough I got in 1998 from Hilmar Bosch. The gem was cut in 2001. This is not common material and I do not see it on the market any longer like it once was. It is red, red and good light return. You just can not cut this material in brilliant cuts or in large gems as the red saturation takes over and it goes too dark. 3 carats is about the maximum on a brilliant cut for this material. It is totally natural and is a good red and some display a orange red... Calibrated size for easy mounting.
