  This gem was re-cut by me from a 5.40 carat chipped culet windowed gem. It was a complete re-cut other than the original shape of the gem. It has a tiny old european open culet as it had tiny clear bubble in the point and they would not respond well to the brilliant point. The gem is so brilliant it really does not show up like with other mineral types. It is a very fine gem with excellent brilliance and it would be considered the "dragon " garnet as it is strongly UV reactive going to a pink red under LW or SW lighting. I think this mineral gem will be sought after as these phenomenal gems are not common and only get more sought after the mine dried up and they always do.. 1.74 RI and fully tested same batch that went to the lab for second opinion...
