  This gem was cut by me from a 28 carat piece of rough i got from my Tanzanian friend back in 2020. He sold it to me as beryl but when I got it in the crystal shape did not look right so I polished a window in the rough and put it on the refractometer to see what it really was, it was orthoclase not beryl, the RI is 1.52, not beryl and not quartz, so then specific gravity, polariscope, etc. and the final determination was orthoclase and then I did my other homework and found this chartreuse material was from Tanzania and not common. So it was still a win, and really turned out to be a very lovely gem as orthoclase is not my favorite mineral but I was used to the straw colored Mexican material, this seems much brighter and I love the color. This would make one stunning pendant... No treatments. Test everything...
