Notes:
Wakasashi, not cut down , original length. ubu one hole in nakago. 48 cm nagasa length, 2.0 cm sori or curvature, 5mm thick at ha machi, 2.85 cm wide at ha machi. 1 mico chip in ha 13 cm from tip of kissaki. Minor kizu or forging flaws as shown, nothing in the ha or serious. Gunome hamon wide undulating with lobes at the top of the hamon, more hazuya and jitzuya fingerstone work will reveal more of the smith's activity, Full wide turn back boshi in the kissaki, very well balanced blade that I am sure has a history... Basic polish from rusted blade. Original saya, habaki, and tsuka, period tsuba from my collection. This was one of the first blades I polished some 16 years ago and back then I was so afraid of doing something wrong, I left the micro chip in the ha. I thought about taking it back to the bench stones but with 60+ blades in stock to restore I am just selling as is. Lines corrected, rust and deep scratches removed, 2 passes with hazuya finger stones, and cut in the yokote line with hazuya as this blade did not have a gemometrical cut in yokote. If they had one I cut it back in, if they did not they got the cosmetic one as that is how it came to me and I try to keep everything as it was when made. I am a true minimalist, I bring it back to functionality and no more. Like with cutting gemstones, you can not take back what you grind away... I added the kurikata to the saya that was missing and also a sterling silver band at the throat of the saya to keep it from splitting when wedging in the habaki, please bare with me on this as my photos stink and I am working on the right lens, lighting, etc. a video will show more and Rachelle will have a video of me and each blade I sell. I have over 45 blades of all types and lengths to list over the next few months, so please bare with us. If you have any questions feel free to email us and I will tell you all I know just like with the gems I cut. Thank you.
