    Notes:
This is another very old wakizashi. I am saying late koto or Muromachi period. The blade is thin as for cutting leather or thin armor. Almost no sori; 3 sixteenths; nagasa 15 one eight inch; 18 and seven eights overall, 1 and one eight inch wide at ha machi. This blade came with all the original fittings but had previous polishers scratches and some pits. Not all the pits came out; but nothing serious by any means. It is just nice to have a totally healthy wakizashi of this period. Two menuki ana holes both punched; mumei nakago. Nice iron fuchi, kashira, and copper dragon menuki. Two piece gold washed pierced habaki. Very nice iron tsuba with gold zogan flowers. In all reality I bought the blade for the tsuba; but then decided it was worthy of a polish. The blade has a tight small gunome hamon that is complete with nei kuzure boshi with a flame effect; very neat. The blade has itame hada with burl areas and lots of nie and nioi; just lots of activity to see in the hamon. It is very rare to get a blade this old with all the original furniture. The worst pit is photographed very close up...Also the original saya has been repaired but it needs a new coat of lacquer.
